SWR reeving blocks are single, double or treble sheave steel wire rope blocks used for hoisting and hauling, supplied by Toco Lifting across South Africa. As a registered Lifting Machinery Entity (LME No. 008), Toco supplies reeving blocks built for hostile working environments and issues the correct certification for the equipment class.
Toco Lifting holds Lifting Machinery Entity registration LME No. 008 under the Driven Machinery Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, with technical oversight by Anton van Staden, an ECSA-registered Lifting Machinery Inspector (Reg. #201112078).
An SWR reeving block is a sheave block used to reeve steel wire rope for hoisting or hauling, redirecting line and reducing the line-pull capacity required of a winch. Single, double or treble sheave configurations are available, and the units are designed to cope with hostile environments such as mining and heavy construction. Toco supplies reeving blocks as part of a broad blocks and pulleys range.
Reeving blocks are available with a forged steel hook, swivel oval eye, swivel safety shackle, or link and shackle, so the block can be matched to the rigging arrangement on site. The right termination depends on the application; Toco’s team can advise on the best configuration for your duty.
By reeving the rope through multiple sheaves, a reeving block distributes the load across several rope falls, reducing the line pull a winch must exert for a given load. This makes heavier hauling and hoisting achievable with a smaller winch. Selecting the correct number of sheaves and rope size for the load is essential; Toco can advise on the right block for your setup.
SWR reeving blocks are used across mining, construction, rigging and heavy industry for hoisting, hauling and rope redirection in demanding conditions. Toco supplies blocks, pulleys and lifting tackle nationally and across the SADC region.

The number of sheaves sets how many rope falls the block carries. A single sheave redirects the rope; double and treble sheave blocks reeve the rope across more falls to share the load and reduce the line pull required of the winch. The right choice depends on the load and the hauling arrangement.
Reeving blocks are available with a forged steel hook, swivel oval eye, swivel safety shackle, or link and shackle. The termination is selected to suit the rigging on site. Toco’s team can confirm the available options for the block size you need.
Yes. SWR reeving blocks are designed to cope with hostile environments such as mining and heavy construction, where dust, weather and rough handling are routine. Toco supplies blocks built for demanding industrial duty.
The correct rope size depends on the block and the sheave diameter, and the right pairing is confirmed on enquiry so the rope and block are correctly matched. Contact the Toco team with your load and rope details for current options.
